Irish Linen Double Damask
< Previous Page | Next Page >

The finest cloth is obtained when the double damask weaves are used. These cloths have more threads per square inch than the single damask resulting in an even richer cloth for the classiest occasion. Regardless of a traditional or contemporary style this tablecloth is a fine centerpiece with 200 threads per square inch.

Irish Linen Double Damask: One may ask why the double damask tablecloth is preferable to the single damask. The most obvious answer is the thread count: The Irish Linen Double Damask has a thread count of 200 threads/square inch, while the single damask has 162 threads per square inch. This makes the tablecloth denser and heavier so that it falls more dramatically. The higher thread count also allows for the design woven into the Irish Linen Damasks to come out more as they are intricately laid in my having threads woven in at 90 degree angles from one another in order to catch the light in a striking fashion.
